Background

Dr. Richard Wall did his graduate work at Long Island University, Brooklyn, and has been a licensed clinical psychologist in the New York City metropolitan area since 1987. He has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings (primarily in the Northwell Health System), including psychiatric inpatient and outpatient clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and independent private practice. Most recently, he was the Director of Midshipman Counseling at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY for 17 years.

Dr. Wall believes that, for many clients, efforts to understand and analyze their situation and reactions usually result in limited success. For many clients, progress lies in their clarifying specific goals and creating workable plans that allow them to practice, step-by-step, what they want to achieve.
